Prize for the next lucky "liker"

For the lucky person chosen form my 150 liker list you get one (you choose colour) of my very new (only finished last night) treasure birds. They stand by themselves as they are stuffed with fiberfill and wheat for the balance base.
Why treasure birds? Because their wings are designed as pockets you can use them to store treasures. Put one on your kitchen window to put your rings whilst you do the dishes. Have one on the hall stand for car keys. Use them to store shopping lists or just write nice notes and leave them around the house. One industrious 6 year old I know is going to be using it for the tooth fairy! There will be many more colours to come and they will be selling for $22.00 at both upcoming

For anyone interested in my products please feel free to email me direct. Not everything I use in my creations is up-cycled but wherever possible I do try and reuse old fabric swatches, thrift store clothes and any other fabrics which have accumulated over the years in my studio. I can often make customer orders - keep in mind my supplies change and my creatures are usually one off's (but I can make repeats in different fabrics). I can post orders overseas and within Australia and am always happy to work on new projects (time allowing).

One final handmaidie friend to share with you. I thought I'd finish the year the way I started it by making a softie just for my daughter. I am calling him "Charlie's Christmas Dude" and I hope she gets a surprise on the morning of the 25th as I have sewn and wrapped him in secret tonight. Merry Christmas everyone and thank you to all my handmaidie converts and supporters out there. If you haven't had the best year I wish for your luck to change in 2011 and for those on a good roll keep it going. Remember to teach your children that creativity is just as important when you are an adult as when you are a child and have a safe holiday. hh

The main reason for getting this blog up and running is to let you all know about my spot at Mathilda's Market that will be held in Adelaide on July 3rd at Loreto Girls School on Portrush Rd. More details and lots of pics will follow.
